about Nik
My tattooing journey began back in 2002 during high school in San Clemente, California, where I was born and raised. It all started with a tattoo machine I bought from a friend, and I spent those early days tattooing friends and people at parties. In 2007, I attended automotive tech school while continuing to tattoo here and there. After graduating at the end of 2007, I realized that my true passion was tattooing, not cars, and I decided to take a different path. I sought out an apprenticeship in Pennsylvania to refine my skills and learn the importance of sanitation in tattooing. By early 2009, I ventured out on my own, and in 2010, I opened my first shop, The Castle Tattoos, in Homer City, PA. I ran the shop successfully until 2015 when the opportunity to move to Arizona arose, and I decided to take it. I joined Rebel Ink in Goodyear, AZ, in 2015 and worked there until 2019. When Covid hit, I shifted to a private studio for a short time before, in 2020, teaming up with Andrew to open the shop we’ve now been running for nearly five years. My specialty lies in black and gray realism, though my experience has allowed me to adapt to all styles of tattooing as I’ve watched trends evolve over the years. For me, tattooing is more than a job—it’s a lifestyle, and I plan to keep doing this until the day I can no longer lift my machine.
